Named for six Rotary clubs of the greater Boise metro area who have pledged an anchor gift to support the project, the Rotary Grand Plaza will be a focal point for gatherings in the park.
Located in the alleé stretching from the Boise Art Museum to Zoo Boise, the Rotary Grand Plaza will be similar in size to the Boise Centre on the Grove. Shaded by trees and dotted with cut stone benches and low walls, this space will feel more intimate – an extension of the natural landscape. A medallion in the center of the plaza and displays dotting the area will pay homage to the acres of orchards that first populated this area, and some of the early buildings and other landmarks familiar to early Boiseans.
The Rotary Grand Plaza will be connected to the Julia Davis Memorial statue to the north and the Agriculture Plaza and Pavilion to the south by the History Walk. - a paved pathway with interpretive signage and pavers documenting landmark developments of the City of Boise and Idaho.
The Rotary Grand Plaza is in the construction document development phase. The construction of the project is pending successful completion of a fundraising campaign.
Photos: This last spring, Boise area Rotary clubs hosted a "Sock Hop" auction to benefit the Rotary Grand Plaza.
