The mission of the Idaho Human Rights Education Center is to promote respect for human dignity and diversity through education and to foster individual responsibility to work for justice and peace.· The Center achieves this mission through educational programs with teachers and students, community leadership and advocacy in human rights.· The Center was founded in 1996 to construct a memorial to human rights.· In August 2002, that vision became reality when the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial opened to the public.· Today, thousands of school children and adults tour the Memorial each year and participate in our programs.
The Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial is a world-class educational park inspired by Anne Frank's faith in humanity. The stunning Memorial, which has been profiled in several national publications including the National Geographic book "Etched in Stone: Enduring Words from our Nation's Monuments," is the only Anne Frank Memorial in the United States and one of the only places in the world where the full Universal Declaration of Human Rights is on public display. The Memorial also includes a life-sized bronze statue of Anne Frank and over 60 quotes from the world's humanitarian leaders. Free guided tours are available through our Docent Program by calling (208)345-0304.
