Boise Parks & Recreation provides safe, healthy and affordable recreational opportunities for youth and families throughout the City of Boise. The Department is responsible for maintaining more than 100 parks, 135 miles of Foothills trails, 22 miles of Greenbelt pathways, hundreds of acres of open space, Zoo Boise, Warm Springs Golf Course, six municipal outdoor pools, Idaho IceWorld, Fort Boise Community Center, a disc golf course, three skate parks, and many other amenities. Boise Parks & Recreation offers art, drama and dance classes, fitness and martial arts programs, mountain biking activities, nature tours, environmental education, special events and other programs. We serve hundreds of low-income youth at three school-based community centers and a mobile recreation van program that travels to parks, schools and refugee apartment complexes.
Our mission: Boise Parks & Recreation’s mission is to enhance Boise’s quality of life by working in partnership with the community to foster and support citizen well being and healthy community environments.
