In an era when families are looking to low-cost, local resources for recreation, educators are seeking free opportunities to inspire and enlighten their students, and City leaders are hoping to attract visitors and bolster the local economy, Julia Davis Park – The Second Century Coalition is responding with functional enhancements and renovations to Julia Davis Park that will:

• Renew Connections. Open to everyone, public parks are where social, emotional, physical and spiritual connections are made. Families and groups gather in their inviting, open spaces..
• Celebrate History and Enhance Active Education. The planned improvements foster learning with interpretive materials that showcase the Treasure Valley’s rich cultural, natural, industrial and economic past, and encourage discussion, exploration and discovery in the present.
• Create a Beautiful and Inviting Gathering Space. Julia Davis Park is an emotional and social hub of the community. Imagine coming upon a family reunion under the shade of a pavilion or enjoying a community concert in the grand plaza. Imagine school children racing from one historical display to the next to uncover clues in the Quest for the Golden Apple. Imagine couples enjoying the murmur of the river from a bench nearby, or kids with diabetes reveling in a group day camp in one of Boise’s most beautiful open spaces.
